MJ Masonry is a demolition and masonry contractor serving Weymouth and the South Shore. On the masonry side, we build with brick, concrete block (CMU) and concrete. On the demolition side, our machines take down houses and garages, up to whole commercial buildings. We also gut interiors ahead of a renovation.
Mike Gomez owns MJ Masonry. The masonry side is the established part of the company. It is built on work for people and companies who have come back for years. Demolition is the newer line, and the company has been building it up with its own equipment.
Most of our masonry work is on the commercial side: block buildings and walls, plus elevator and stair shafts. Our commercial masonry customers are general contractors on bid work, property owners and developers. On the demolition side, we work for homeowners as well as property owners, developers and general contractors.
Weymouth sits at the center of our service area, which runs across Greater Boston out to Worcester. For larger demolition jobs, we also travel into New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Call or text (617) 838-0280 about your job, and we will look at it and put the quote in writing.
Serving Weymouth and the South Shore We look at the job before we price it. Then we put the quote in writing, so you can see what the work covers.
On a teardown, loading out the demolition debris is part of the work. The quote also says whether the foundation comes out.
We pour the concrete footings our block and brick walls sit on. The concrete and the masonry come from the same company.
One company can handle the teardown and the masonry that follows. We can clear an old building off a lot, then lay the block and brick for the new one.
Our own machines do the knockdowns, on a detached garage or a full commercial building. Clearing the site afterward is part of the same job.
On a teardown, you decide what happens to the foundation. When it comes out, we break it up and fill the hole.
We look at the site, or the plans on bid work, before we price anything. Then the quote comes to you in writing.
From the first call or text to the finished work, here is how it goes.
Call or text (617) 838-0280 and tell us what the job is and where. Photos help, and so do plans on commercial work.
We come out and look at the job. On bid work, we go through the plans and specs instead.
The price comes in writing, with the scope spelled out. Once you say yes, we set a start date with you.
A teardown waits on the permit and any asbestos removal. The utilities shut off their service before our machines arrive. On a commercial job, we work to the general contractor's schedule.
Our machines take the building down, and we load out the debris as we go. On masonry jobs, the walls go up to the plans, and we go over the finished work with you.
